Distance Learning, Off-Campus and Certificate Programs (DOC)

You can take a university class and start earning a degree or certificate from the University of Saskatchewan without coming on campus.

The University of Saskatchewan provides a number of options for students to study off-campus. These include: independent studies (correspondence) classes, online classes, televised classes (at over 50 sites in the province), off-campus face-to-face lecture classes (7 sites), and multi-mode classes. Sample one class or take enough classes to be a full-time student. You can take a full first-year College of Agriculture or Arts and Science program through Regional Colleges in Kindersley, La Ronge, Melfort, North Battleford, or Yorkton; SIAST Woodland Campus in Prince Albert; or St. Peter’s College in Muenster. You can also take a full first-year College of Agriculture program through regional colleges in Swift Current, Estevan and Weyburn. Online and independent studies classes can also taken by students on-campus, throughout the province or throughout the world.

The CCDE Writing Centre for students studying at a distance provides students with the tools necessary to write an effective essay, report, or review in any academic area and is available to anyone taking a distance delivered class administered through the CCDE.

Degree Credit Course Offerings

Off-Campus Regular Session
Selected degree credit courses in Arts, Commerce, Education, and Kinesiology are available in outlying centres through the Regional College and SIAST systems in Kindersley, La Ronge, Melfort, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Yorkton, and other smaller centres. Independent Studies & Online Courses
Prefer to study at home no matter where you live? Many Agriculture, Arts and Science, and Education courses are available in a distance education format; instructional materials for such courses are sent out by mail or via the internet. Opportunities are provided for students to consult by telephone or email with faculty on campus. Many courses rely primarily on printed and audio materials. Some courses make use of a combination of printed materials, face-to-face discussion, the Internet, or televised instruction (both live and recorded). Find out what courses are offered this year for you to take from the comfort of your own home.

Information on admission, registration and fees is available through Student and Enrolment Services Division, or through the CCDE Credit Studies Bulletin. Contact us if you would like a Bulletin sent to you:
